UK Warehousing Association Response to the RIS3 Variation Consultation

UKWA supports the Government’s continued prioritisation of maintenance, renewals and network resilience
within RIS3, and recognises the fiscal pressures created by the Defence Investment Plan. However, we do not
support the proposed cancellation of the A46 Newark Bypass, and we have significant reservations about the
proposed cancellation of the A38 Derby Junctions scheme. Both routes carry disproportionate freight and
logistics significance relative to their position in this package of savings, and we set out the evidence for this
below.
