The UKWA Advisory Boards work to empower the sector by facilitating a regular dialogue for leading industry experts and practitioners to directly engage with our policy work. UKWA Advisory Boards meet quarterly to identify trends, provide insights and knowledge, and directly contribute to UKWA’s engagement with policymakers.
The Advisory Boards represent a diverse cross-section of industry, allowing us to develop the most relevant and practical policy proposals to support our vital, innovative sector.

Explores evolving digitisation and technology within our sector, such as AI, automation, and IT systems. Addresses the impact on warehousing operations, and looks into how to harness the benefits of this emerging technology while addressing potential challenges.
Covers the warehousing sector’s net zero journey by examining our future energy needs and exploring renewable solutions, such as solar PV adoption. Also contributes to the Department for Transport’s Freight Energy Forum.
To support our work on training, including the Warehouse Manager CPC, whilst also investigating key labour and skills issues in the sector including recruitment, retention and diversity.
To help address the considerable challenges warehousing and logistics businesses face in relation to their properties and infrastructure including business rates and planning consent.
To support the industry’s involvement in the Generation Logistics campaign and help to illustrate and promote the value of careers within the sector to our best and brightest.
