NIC Interim Report, Dec 2018

The National Infrastructure Commission (NIC)  has been tasked by the government with researching into the future of urban freight – identifying the major challenges faced by theindustry and recommending the best way forward.In December 2018, the NIC delivered its interim findings, which were welcomed by UKWA CEOPeter Ward. “This NIC report has highlighted issues that have been key themes for UKWA for sometime,” he said. “It identifies an ‘absolute focus on delivering homes without consideration of how freight will service growth… ‘ and calls for better recognition of the value of freight in (future) planning.It is encouraging to see that the NIC has pinpointed some of the major problems facing our industry and is recommending action to government to address them.”read nic interim report>
