On 31st March 2025, the UK government’s new Simpler Recycling legislation came into effect – bringing big changes to how waste must be separated across businesses in England.
The goal? A standardised system that makes it easier for everyone to recycle correctly, helping reduce contamination and boost sustainability efforts.
Under the new rules, all businesses must separate waste into six defined streams: paper and card, plastic, glass, metal, food waste, and general waste. That’s a major shift for many industrial and warehouse environments, where waste separation can be a logistical headache.
Failing to separate waste correctly can lead to enforcement action and potential fines, so establishing your system now is crucial.
This is where racksack® saves the day.
racksack® is a simple yet brilliantly effective solution designed specifically for busy industrial spaces. It hangs neatly off the end of aisle racking with S hooks, staying out of the way of operations while providing clear, designated waste zones.
With a wide range of printed designs available – including General Waste, Plastic Only, Mixed Paper and Card, and more – staff can easily identify the correct waste stream at a glance, minimising mistakes and maximising recycling rates. This ensures businesses can easily align their waste disposal practices with the new legislation.
Not only does racksack® promote compliance, but it also makes workplace recycling visual, accessible, and easy to manage. There’s no need for bulky bins or complex systems – just hang, use, and empty into the primary waste receptacle on site. It’s the ideal way to encourage correct waste segregation right at the source with minimal disruption to workflow.
Whether you operate a single-site warehouse or a national network of distribution centres, racksack® offers a scalable solution to meet your recycling needs.
At Beaverswood®, we’ve always been passionate about making industrial spaces cleaner, safer, and more efficient – and now, helping them become greener too. racksack® supports environmental targets while keeping your site tidy and compliant.
