Mike Reader MP to address UKWA Awards for Excellence Lunch

UKWA is delighted to announce that Mike Reader MP will be attending the Association’s flagship event, The UKWA Awards for Excellence Lunch 2025.

Mike has been a Member of Parliament for Northampton South, at the heart of the ‘Golden Triangle’ since 2024. His constituency includes the 750-acre Brackmills Business Improvement District, a key logistics centre where several UKWA members are located.

He is on the Energy Security and Net Zero Committe, and chairs the All Party Parliamentary Group for Infrastructure.

Mike Reader MP commented; “Warehouses play a crucial part in keeping the country moving, helping businesses manage supply chains and making sure families can get hold of products they use every day. The sector has an important role to play in delivering the big infrastructure projects the country needs for the future, particularly in nuclear energy, transport, and defence, all of which saw major gains in the recent Spending Review. I’m thrilled to be speaking at the UKWA Awards and look forward to hearing from businesses about the challenges and opportunities ahead as we work to together to grow the economy.”

Clare Bottle, UKWA CEO commented, “Mike’s background in construction and his role as Business Champion for Construction makes him an ideal conduit between the industry and government – we know from his positive comments that Mike is aware of the importance of warehousing and logistics; we look forward to welcoming him to our event and look forward to hearing his address. “

The UKWA Awards for Excellence Lunch recognises and showcases the top performers in warehousing and will be held at The Royal Lancaster London on Wednesday 9 July.
