Full Membership is open to organisations operating as third-party logistics providers (3PL) or those using logistics services and storing only their own products. Associate Membership is available for organisations providing products and services to the warehousing and logistics industries.
We offer our members a wide range of member services, discounts and offers, as well as being part of a trade association that represents its members at the highest levels of government and in other forums. Members usually benefit from discounted tickets for our events, and preferential rates for advertising and sponsorship. All members have a listing on our website promoting their services.
For Full Members (3PL and Logistics Users), the annual subscription depends on the amount of covered storage space held in the UK. Associate Members pay a flat fee, with a Corporate rate for organisations employing more than one person, and an Individual rate for consultants working for themselves. In addition, Full 3PL and Associate Members pay an Entrance Fee when they join.
A list of membership fees can be found here.
Our membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March. If you join after April, your subscriptions will be pro-rated according to the number of months remaining. The Entrance Fee remains the same at any time of year.
Quarterly and monthly Direct Debits are available for the ongoing membership subscription fees. Entrance Fees are payable upfront in full. All costs can be invoiced for payment either by credit card or BACS transfer.
Full members are asked to supply a copy of their insurance cover document. Once this is received, applicants are invoiced for the entrance fee and subscriptions, and we will arrange for one of our Board Members to give you a call. This is an informal call to welcome you to UKWA and ensure that you are aware of the benefits available to you.
Membership will be confirmed once payment is received and the Board call completed. For Associate Members, confirmation will be sent on payment of invoice.
We aim to process new applications within a week of receipt – in practice this will often be much quicker. After that, it will depend on how quickly the applicant can supply any requested documents (Full Members) and pay the membership invoice.
Membership documents, including Conditions of Contract, will be sent out once the application process is complete and any outstanding invoices paid.
We hope you won’t, of course, but things change in the world of business and sometimes membership is no longer suitable or required. As stated in our Articles of Association, we require six months’ notice if you wish to cancel your membership. Six months’ worth of fees at your category rate will be invoiced if notice is not provided in good time.
In the first instance, please direct your enquiries to membership@ukwa.org.uk.
