UKWA Real Estate Advisory Board will drive forward change as logistics becomes the new retail

The inaugural meeting of the UKWA Real Estate Advisory Board, hosted by Colliers International, brought together an impressive gathering of stakeholders from the industrial property sector and UKWA members.   With a clear remit to deliver solutions rather then rhetoric,  the group has established itself as an important collaboration,  able to share knowledge and expertise, enabling UKWA as a neutral facilitator to  drive forward change.

Key themes included  how the UK warehousing sector is at the centre of a seismic shift in consumer habits, manufacturing processes and government planning policy, and the impact  and challenges resulting from government affairs and Brexit.

The meeting concluded that as logistics becomes the new retail, the needs of the logistics industry must become properly embedded into planning process, and that those responsible for land use and planning should not overlook or take for granted the importance of logistics as key enabler of economic growth.
