UKWA at the 2015 CBI Annual Conference

November 13, 2015

This week saw PM David Cameron, education secretary Nicky Morgan and a range of other high profile political and business speakers address the CBI Annual Conference, with the theme ‘Britain means business’.

CEO Peter Ward was there to represent the UK Warehousing Association and found the event inspiring, on point and highly encouraging for the logistics industry:

The PM made a powerful argument for re-negotiating the UK’s position in Europe “ he said this country welcomes a ‘common market’ for trade, but is opposed to ever closer union and shared currency; his point was that one position does not invalidate the other. He spoke with passion and real understanding of the impact of EU membership on businesses in Britain, in terms of cross-border trading, working directives, freedom of movement on labour costs and so forth.
