UKWA appoint new Commercial Manager

UKWA “ the leading trade body for the supply chain and third party logistics industries “ has announced the appointment of Shoaib Vakil as its new Commercial Manager.

Before joining UKWA Shoaib held senior operational roles with a number of well-known third party logistics specialists and has experience in industries as diverse as publishing and construction.

Shoaib’s principal responsibility will be to develop and oversee the smooth running of UKWA’s various Affinity Schemes.

UKWA works closely with a number of business partners to provide members with a broad range of exclusive services that, we believe, will save 3PLs money and improve their operational efficiency, says Shoaib.

We are planning to introduce several new and exciting services that will only be available to UKWA members and which we are sure members will benefit greatly from in the months ahead, Shoaib added.

UKWA CEO, Peter Ward, commented: We are delighted to be able to add someone of Shoaib’s caliber to the UKWA team. Shoaib has outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and has proved throughout his career that he is able to work both on his own initiative and as part of a team. His global logistics and international shipping experience will also prove invaluable in his new role.
