Seafield establishes a new operational base at Immingham

March 7, 2014

Seafield Logistics has responded to an operational change at Tata Chemicals Europe (TCE). In addition to manufacturing sodium carbonate (soda ash) at its factory in Cheshire, TCE has started to import large volumes of product from the United States directly into the port of Immingham, which has required Seafield to establish a new operational base close to the docks.

TCE’s warehouse at Immingham holds 60,000 tonnes of soda ash which Seafield then distributes to TCE’s customers along the eastern side of the country, improving supply chain performance and reducing CO2 emissions.
The new base has created an additional 10 driver positions and this number will grow during 2014.
