Robust performance

April 16, 2013

Wincanton says its Contract Logistics business is performing robustly, in a trading update ahead of its preliminary results announcement in June.  Wincanton Contract Logistics had secured new wins and renewals across a broad range of sectors, despite the UK market place remaining challenging. And during the final quarter, it has opened the first convenience store distribution centre for Morrisons, and a second similar operation for Sainsbury’s, both serving the London market. Within Specialist Businesses, the company’s Container business continued to be affected by the lower volumes in the UK container market place. However, Records Management and Pullman Fleet Services had produced good performances, growing with new customers in the healthcare sector and with existing home delivery customers, respectively.
