New trailers

Logistics specialist Knights of Old has purchased three new double- deck trailers for its well-established and ever-increasing Irish service. Operating its own trucks in Ireland since 2000, the new trailers will be an integral part in the company 65,000 pallet movements to and from Ireland each year.

Manufactured by SDC Trailers (Mansfield) the trailers will hold up to 54 pallets each and will be in operation by March 2014. Knights of Old already have 21 double deck trailers in its current fleet of over 230 trailers. The new trailer are built to accommodate the new Irish regulation for vehicle heights of 4.65 metres.

Ian Beattie, Group Managing Director, Knights of Old said: We operate a busy service to Ireland and offer competitive rates and express transit times. We need to invest in new equipment to assist with the increasing demand as well as the new technologies which ensure our reliability.
