– Central Systems & Automation Ltd extends Autostore WMS functionality with advanced planning and oversight tools –

Central Systems & Automation Ltd today announced two new software modules for its class-leading Autostore WMS (warehouse management system). The Workload Forecasting & Resource Management module enables Autostore WMS users to assign people, stock and MHE simply and predictably across all warehouse areas based on forecast throughput. The Distributed System Management module connects two or more warehouses running independent Autostore WMS applications in a single, secure browser, delivering an enhanced view of operational data, site-by-site. Both modules are available now.

The Autostore Workload Forecasting & Resource Management module enables users to assess the manning levels required for the scheduled workload by applying pre-defined strategies over precise time periods. The module calculates the total man-hours required to carry out the workload “ along with a breakdown of resource demand throughout each period.

This module enables Autostore WMS users to build strategies based on real-time operational factors; create and store multiple resourcing/workload strategies for future use “ plus adapt workloads manually; cut time frames into slices for extra reporting detail; add in additional non-operational duties to calculations “ like cleaning and maintenance; assess travel time between pick faces or zones plus the unit picking rates that precisely replicate individual warehouse environments.

The Autostore Distributed System Management module delivers a dashboard-based, real-time performance overview for users managing two or more independent and locally hosted warehouses running Autostore WMS. It puts key operational performance data at the user’s fingertips, enabling warehouse managers to view, compare and contrast multiple operations quickly, easily, clearly and securely.

This module connects all independent Autostore WMS sites through a single and secure web browser interface; delivers at-a-glance oversight of critical performance areas like order throughput, stock balances, storage availability and returns; displays the key performance and real-time throughput data needed to optimise WMS operation and the supply chain; and is available for all versions of Autostore WMS from V6 onwards.

Andrew McKaig, commercial director at Central Systems & Automation, said: Autostore WMS is all about ensuring the right people, product and equipment are in the right place, in the right quantities at the right time. Both these new modules further enhance warehouse performance, delivering superior levels of secure operational visibility and resource predictability. The cumulative benefits drive improved real-time decision-making, productivity, accuracy, cost efficiency and crisper customer service “ in the warehouse and through the supply chain.
