Cybercrime is on the increase with cyber criminals devising ever more devious tactics to hack into IT systems to introduce ransomware and compromise business emails for immediate financial gain.
Logistics firms can be particularly vulnerable as a basic system failure can lead to major stock integrity issues, prevent order submissions and inventory management, delaying delivery schedules, as well as failure of automatic machinery. In addition to the immediate hit these outages would have to the bottom line, there may be negative implications for a company’s reputation.
That is why UKWA has teamed up with Perry Appleton Group and Travelers Insurance, to bring together a group of experts to help members understand where they may be vulnerable, and to recommend measures to minimise the risk of attack, together with response and recovery support to ensure business as usual should a breach occur.
