Calling all logistics veterans – UKWA needs you!
December 11, 2018
In 2019 UKWA will celebrate 75 years since its inception in 1944. To mark this milestone, the Association will be organising a series of special events, including the production of a commemorative souvenir brochure that charts the changes the industry has seen over three quarters of a century.
“Some member companies have been part of UKWA for many decades with some great memories, anecdotes and images of the industry over the years,” says CEO Peter Ward. “UKWA is keen to encourage those kind of contributions from as many sources as possible to share with the wider logistics community – so please contact us!”
The Association is proud to be a long time supporter of TransAid, which transforms lives through safe, available, and sustainable transport in Africa. Accordingly, as part of the ongoing celebrations, UKWA will also be supporting the charity, with a series of fundraising events to be announced throughout 2019.
Peter Ward concludes, “Make a note in your diary – join us at our National Conference, March 5-6th and UKWA Annual Lunch & Awards on June 27th. Once again, held at The Dorchester in Park Lane this event will be the highlight of the year and we can promise it will be extra special to mark our 75th anniversary!”
