ARR Craib Transport Limited and ASCO to present their support for road safety
January 15, 2013
ARR Craib Transport Ltd, in conjunction with international oil and gas services company ASCO, has been asked to present their campaign in support of road safety to MPs at Brake’s Annual Reception in the Houses of Parliament tomorrow (16 January 2012). The firms will also highlight their joint partnership with Brake at the road safety charity’s Corporate Supporter to provide other supporters with some ‘road of thought’ for working with Brake in 2013.
ARR Craib and ASCO jointly sponsored Brake’s Road Safety Week 2012 initiative which took place from 19 to 25 November. The firms teamed up with local schools to encourage motorists to reduce their speeds to 20mph. Banners were placed outside Longhaven Primary in Peterhead and Foveran School in Ellon to appeal to drivers to slow down and a number of Go 20 banners were placed around Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire. Road Safety Week has been taking place annually across the UK for the past 15 years and aims to give everyone an opportunity to promote road safety in their community, school or company.
Steven Anderson, health and safety director at ARR Craib, says, We are proud to be associated with Brake and the worthwhile work they do in campaigning for road safety and supporting those who have been victims of road accidents. As a transport and logistics company with a fleet of 250 vehicles on the road at any one time, it is important for ARR Craib to get behind the charity and contribute to making roads in our communities safer.
Both ARR Craib and ASCO will attend the event at the Houses of Parliament. Willie Smith, Head of Operations, Transport and CCUs of ASCO, will speak on behalf of both firms to highlight our joint commitment to road safety. We appreciate the opportunity to address MPs about road safety since they have the power to legislate and take action to make our roads and communities safer. We also look forward to networking with other Brake supporters, and it will be interesting to hear about the vital work the charity has carried out in the past year as a result of the support it has received.
