ACCESS DELTA WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM SUPPORTS FREIGHT COMPANY VELTA INTERNATIONAL’S RAPID EXPANSION INTO CO-STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION The Access Delta system has kept pace and continues to do so says operations manager Neil Cottrell.
Freight handling company Velta International has picked the Access Delta warehouse performance system with web-based customer communications, online order input and tracking to support its rapid expansion into storage and distribution. Velta’s decision to implement Access Delta followed a marketwide review of WMS solutions. Velta is now using the system to manage its co-storage, bonded and non-bonded, 40,000 square feet, 1,500 pallet warehouse for existing and new customers, interfacing with Velta’s existing bond system.
Access Delta met our need for a good 3PL system that was also able to
differentiate between bonded and non-bonded goods says Velta International operations manager Neil Cottrell. Access demonstrated a good knowledge of our business, and their software was user friendly.
Our largest customer to date, a footwear specialist has a mixture of
imported bonded and UK non-bonded product, Neil Cottrell adds. The main
benefit of a bonded warehouse of course is that you can defer payment of
duty and VAT until such time as the goods are released from storage “ an
attractive business proposition.
Our expansion in this area has been very recent and very rapid Neil
Cottrell concludes. The Access Delta system has kept pace and continues to do so.
Access Delta (www.theaccessgroup.com/delta) claims the largest percentage of 3PL clients of any WMS technology supplier. The company was recently
acquired by Access Group (www.theaccessgroup.com ), a leading UK business solutions provider, and has become a division of the Group under a new ‘Access Delta’ brand. The acquisition enhances Access’ ability to offer an
integrated and smart business-wide solution that monitors and optimises the
performance of supply chain operations.
