Customs Associates

Customs Associates Limited is an independent customs and international trade consultancy practice, providing advice and support to importers and exporters involved in the international movement of goods to or from the European Union. It helps traders pay the minimum amount of import duty that is legally due and assists businesses to ensure compliance with the many complex regulations laid down by the European Commission, including the Union Customs Code which was introduced in May 2016.

Providing a comprehensive range of customs related services, Customs Associates advises both large multi-nationals and small companies across a range of industry sectors. Of particular interest to UKWA members, Customs Associates can advise on the customs warehousing regime, including issues related to duty deferment, financial guarantees, HMRC approvals and system requirements.

Barbara Scott is the current Chair of the Customs Practitioners Group and has an extensive customs consultancy background with 'Big-4' accountancy practices. Using a network of customs consultants in the major trading nations, Customs Associates offers a global service from its base in Eastcote, Middlesex UK, just 30 minutes from central London.
