Ensure your workplace is Covid-secure

September 23, 2020

COVID-compliance in the workplace is now a legal obligation – are you ready?

Despite spending weeks encouraging employers to introduce their people back into COVID-secure workplaces, on 22nd September the government announced a dramatic 180-degree turnaround in the light of rising infection rates and fears of a ‘second wave’.

The new position is that all those who can work from home should do so, to help curb the increase in COVID cases. However, there are obviously many businesses, particularly in the warehousing and logistics sector, for whom homeworking is simply not an option. As COVID-compliance has now become a legal obligation with severe penalties for not meeting required standards in the workplace – namely, fines of up to £10,000 and being forced to close – creating a COVID-secure workplace has never been more important.

If you are wondering whether your business is up-to-scratch and could confidently pass a Covid-security inspection,  you can access a free checklist, compiled by the Health & Safety and HR experts of UKWA Associate Member Citation, which covers all the considerations you need to make your workplace inspection-ready and safe for your workforce.
