UKWA provides information and advice for members throughout the process of planning and delivering apprenticeships, including support on accessing funding.

Most recently, UKWA has been working with the government to support its Kickstart scheme, to help members recruit young people into the industry at a time when youth unemployment is climbing due to the global pandemic and the industry is feeling the effects of a ‘Brexodus’ of immigrant workers.

Apprenticeships help businesses to develop a motivated, skilled and qualified workforce and bring many business benefits – including improved skills levels, service, morale and productivity.

Across the employment sector, growing numbers of companies are employing apprentices, with 96% of businesses reporting benefits from their apprentices and 89% reporting that apprenticeships have helped their business improve the quality of their product or service.
