Stroud based Howard Tenens, operating across 14 depots in the UK, wins the Green Award for its Boston depot
The 2011 Boston Business awards in association with Boston Enterprise Week were open to businesses trading in the Boston Borough Council catchment area.
The judges’ concluded:
“The Green Award category was very competitive. In the end, we felt Howard Tenens had the edge because they had a good understanding of how their business affected the environment. In reaching our decision we were particularly impressed with the company’s work on developing low carbon transport, which we felt was groundbreaking with a national impact.”
Catherine Crouch, Group Environment Director for Howard Tenens said:
"We were delighted to win the Boston Green Award, sponsored by Boston Borough Council, as it is testament to the investment and commitment we have made in our quest for alternative fuels and vehicles. A compressed natural gas refuelling infrastructure will play an essential part in the UK's low carbon transport strategy for the future. We would be happy to hear from any businesses in the area that would like to find out more about using gas as a vehicle fuel."
