Bow Distribution, a privately owned logistics company was started 14 years ago by two senior industry experienced professionals with 60 years of experience between them. Their aim - to provide tailored storage and transportation systems for customers to meet all their specialised requirements and still deliver cost effective solutions. Achieving and delivering to their logo “ Others Promise, We Deliver” requires a close working relationship and understanding of individual customer needs, and dedicated Customer Care is a task within the business of the highest priority.

The Directors (all working) are proud to announce the opening of their third warehouse facility on Amber Business Park, near Alfreton, which increases overall storage and transhipment capacity from 42000 sq foot to 70000 sq foot. Customers are showing considerable interest and Bow has already serviced a contract for 1200 pallets of snow shovels in the first 3 weeks of operation.

Bow Distribution, a name most people will be unfamiliar with, has quietly touched the hands of almost every person in the UK as part of the supply chain distributing “Till Rolls”. These small items go to almost every high street shop, supermarket chain and Bank by the tens of thousands, and includes Tesco, Waitrose, The Co-Op, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Aldi, HSBC, and perhaps less familiarly tickets such as Ladbrookes betting slips, and a host of other users of this essential daily commodity. Bow has successfully provided warehousing, pick and pack, and a full delivery operation function that includes all activities from goods inwards, to order fulfilment and final distribution to end user for this contract for 14 years. Quality of service is paramount.

Bow Distribution’s services constantly develop and diversify to meet customer requirements. As part of the UK Pallet network, and the Midlands System compliance Winner for 2008/ 09, and again 2009 /10, the need to introduce smaller consignment loads at lower unit costs to fulfil customer demand for Micro Pallets and Quarter Pallets will result in Bow becoming The United Pallet Network – Derbyshire’s partner from January 2012. This will provide the ability for each and every customer to be able to track and trace their own pallet during delivery from collection to POD signature and being able to obtain print these documents same day greatly improves the efficiency of the supply chain function and saves valuable time.

Bow Distribution has grown year on year despite a recession (2008) and what is reported as a “flat market place”, and whilst many competitors have cut costs, and in many cases then delivered a poorer service to it’s customer base, Bow has tirelessly worked to improve annually the range of services on offer, has increased staffing levels and promoted actively customer care and contact, and has expanded it’s vehicle fleet, the number of warehouse staff employed, and actively participates in Apprentice Training with a view to long term employment of what becomes “Home Grown” staff.

Bow Distribution’s employment record shows a high degree of stability in staff and low staff turnover. Constant training and promotion results in experienced staff who understand how the business works and what it takes to deliver customer satisfaction. A waiting list exists for most functions within the business. Bow works in “partnership” with customers to deliver what is required, when it is required, and recognises that efficiency from stability and professionalism is key to any long term viable working relationship.

Customer base has increased over 50% in the past 12 months with revenues up over 20%. All aspects of the business are controlled by a dedicated team of working Directors /Shareholders that pay attention to detail.
