e-customs and Chivas Brothers Ltd - the Scotch whisky and premium gin company of Pernod Ricard - have recently concluded a 4 year contract for the provision of software that enables the transmission of electronic customs declarations.
The software provided by e-customs will facilitate somewhere in the region of 40,000 electronic declarations per annum on the Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS) and the National Export System (NES). These declarations are required for the despatch of all Non-EU and EU movements, as well as imports and significant numbers of stock transfers within the UK.
Commenting on the agreement, Scott Montgomery, Logistics Manager at Chivas Brothers, stated: "The e-customs system plays a very important part in our supply chain, by enabling the fast and cost-effective transmission of electronic customs declarations. The fact that we have signed a 4 year contract with them demonstrates our confidence in the quality of the product, service and support provided by e-customs”
