Food & Drinks Logistics Show
NEC, Birmingham
21-24 March 2010
The food and drink logistics market in the UK is worth some £12bn a year and forms around 10% of food and drink companies' total spend. In the current economic climate, these companies are actively seeking new and innovative solutions and services to help them maximise the efficiency of their supply chain. The new Food & Drink Logistics Show will provide a unique and dedicated platform for companies involved with warehousing, palletised transport, 3rd party logistics, supply chain solutions and many other areas to showcase their products to top-level decision makers from the food and drink sectors.
Thousands of individuals with purchasing authority for logistics spend within their organisation already attend our leading food and drink trade shows, so Food & Drink Logistics Show is a perfect fit and gives real added value to visitors. We surveyed a proportion from visitors to our 2008 shows and found that they are planning to spend some £248 million on logistics in the next 12 months. The new show is an ideal opportunity for suppliers to meet with buyers from this highly valuable market.
The show has already gained strong support from the industry, including the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT). "The CILT (UK) is delighted to be supporting the Food and Drink Logistics Show which has its debut in 2010. The addition of a specialist logistics show within the established Food and Drink format is a welcome innovation which recognises the vital role that logistics plays in serving the needs of all suppliers and consumers. As the chartered body for all transport, logistics and supply chain professionals we give this event our whole hearted support," commented Steve Agg, CILT(UK) Chief Executive.
The chief executive of the Food Storage & Distribution Federation, Chris Sturman added; "as the body representing the food and drink supply chain, the FSDF is proud to support the Food & Drink Logistics Show. Our mission is to promote excellence in food logistics and we feel the new show is in synergy with this aim, providing a unique meeting place for our members and their customers."
Recently confirmed exhibitor Norbert Dentressangle's Dan Myers also backed the Food & Drink Logistics Show, commenting; "Norbert Dentressangle is one of the UK's leading logistics companies, providing robust, responsive and highly cost-effective solutions for major food and drink manufacturers and retailers. The Food & Drink Logistics Show will be the perfect platform from which to promote our unique capabilities."
The Food & Drink Logistics Show will be co-located with Foodex, Baking Industry Exhibition, Food & Drink Expo, Convenience Retailing Show, Café+@CRS, Off Licence Show and IFFE to give visitors a complete overview of the food and drink supply chain under one roof.
