UKWA’s Golf Society holds its Annual Golf Day on the Championship Course of the Portal Golf & Country Club, Tarporley, Cheshire.
Providing a social platform for members to meet and get to know each other away from the pressures of the day-to-day routine, the UKWA Golf Society is an excellent opportunity to meet friends from the industry - old and new - in a relaxed and informal setting.
In 2008 members of UKWA’s Golf Society overcame their counterparts from the British Association of Removers (BAR) to win the inaugural UKWA/BAR trophy.
UKWA team captain Duncan Pannell collected a silver salver on behalf of the Association from Greg Wildman, a director of sponsors Basil Fry & Company.

UKWA Team Trophy
Winner: Jungheinrich (The Jungheinrich team comprised Tony Porter, Grahame Blackmore, Gunter Fritzche, Ray Lawless)
UKWA Bovril Trophy (Individual)
Winner: Darren Thompson, PD Ports
Runner Up: Keith Foster, Boughey
- Nearest the Pin Winner: Mark Clapham, Lambert Smith Hampton
- Putting Competition Winner: Kenny Wyllie, Schmitz Cargobull
