committees
UKWA operates a number of committees that ensure the Association is at the forefront of changes in legislation that might impact on the day to day running of UKWA members’ businesses.
For example, the role of the Operations and Safety Committee is to examine the physical aspects of warehousing and to advise the UKWA Board of any matters affecting the Association and its members.
The committee’s terms of reference embrace warehouse operations, health & safety, environmental policy, including food hygiene and employment legislation. The committee is invited by various government departments to respond to consultative documents on behalf of the membership.
Meanwhile, UKWA’s Customs & Tax Warehousing Group works closely with H M Revenue and Customs as well as the Joint Customs Consultative Committee (JCCC) and the Joint Alcohol and Tobacco Consultation Group (JATCG)
